#LinkedInAds Did You Know?

Did you know that you can change LinkedIn Ads bids and budgets in bulk? This is a new feature that was rolled out on the platform at the end of last year. Though it’s limited, you can even create new campaigns in bulk using this tool!

This is a HUGE milestone for the platform. Before this feature was introduced, advertisers would have to go into each campaign, one by one, and manually change their daily budgets and bids. For advertisers like us who segment their audience so granularly that it can result in managing hundreds of campaigns at a time, making these types of changes in bulk is a necessity. This is a step in the right direction, but LinkedIn, we need more bulk features like this!

How it works is you first select the campaigns you wish to edit by clicking the checkboxes to the left of each campaign name in LinkedIn Campaign Manager. In the top left is a dropdown called Bulk Actions. From the dropdown options, either select “Export all Campaigns” (if you want to edit all campaigns without clicking checkboxes) or “Export selection”. This will then download a CSV file to your computer.

From there, you can start making changes to your campaigns’ bids and budgets. This will be columns O and U in your exported file. Replace the values in these columns with the new bid and budget values you want, save the file, and then go back to the Bulk Actions dropdown and select “Import File”. Select the file you saved, click “Next”, and then click “Import”. LinkedIn will then make the changes.

Pro Tip: If you want to keep track of changes you’re making to your campaigns, export two separate files. Save one file as is, so you keep record of the values you had before making any changes. Then make changes to your second file, save it, and import it to make the changes. If you ever want to revert back to the budgets and bids you had before you made changes, import the first file you saved that contained the original bid and budget values.
