Starting a LinkedIn Ads Account? Here’s the foolproof way

Starting with LinkedIn Ads can feel like a maze—especially when you’re unsure where to begin or what buttons to click.

So we’ve put together a foolproof, step-by-step guide to help you launch your Ad Account quickly and correctly.

No guesswork. No mistakes. Just the essentials.

Step 1: Navigate to the right place

Head over to LinkedIn.com.

In the top-right corner, click For Business → then select Advertise on LinkedIn.

Hit Get Started.

If we already have access to multiple ad accounts, we’ll see a dashboard with all of them listed.

Just click Create and follow the prompts to spin up a new account.

If we only have access to one account, LinkedIn will drop us straight into it. Either way, we’re covered.

Note: Logging in to LinkedIn is required here—so make sure we’ve got our credentials handy.

Step 2: Choose currency wisely

Once we start creating the account, LinkedIn will ask us to name it and select a currency.

Important: This currency cannot be changed later.

So let’s double-check that we’re choosing the right one based on our billing region.

Step 3: Link a LinkedIn Page

Next, we need to connect a LinkedIn Page to the ad account.

We’ll want to select a Page we already have access to (admin or otherwise).

That’s what our ads will be associated with moving forward.

Once selected, hit Save.

Boom—our LinkedIn Ads account is live.

What’s next?

With our account set up properly, we’re ready to dive into strategy, audience targeting, campaign builds, and optimizations.

And the best part? We skipped the rookie setup mistakes that cause major headaches down the road.
